'Summer/Autumn 2010'
Harvest is now upon us with extras in the winery from Japan, Napa Valley USA, France and Jersey Island along with our own dedicated team hard at work; a busy exciting time of the year. So, as always, we are full of activity at Mountford and loving every minute of it.
The overseas markets have been developing nicely with quite a range of worldwide distributors now including, Japan, England, America, Singapore and just recently Sweden has come on board. Please click on the
contacts page to see websites of these companies. We hope to extend these markets and will keep you up to date on progress.
Locally it has been an exciting time. During the month of March Christchurch restaurant
Saggio Di Vino profiled Mountford wines and matched them alongside a stunning and creative menu. At the start of the year we attended the Pinot Noir 2010 conference which was very stimulating to be part of. We have also had several wine writers visiting Mountford including Oz Clarke, Matthew Dukes and Joe Seviney. And of course wine makers, restaurateurs, sommeliers and lovers of good wines have come to visit over summer and autumn. Including Sara and Tomoki from the NZ Wine Bar in Tokyo, who have been staying this month. We recently had a large St Margaret’s rowing fundraiser. This went very well with an entertaining tasting with
CP with rave reviews of our wine and location.
We are excited to be part of the
Hurunui bike trail and we look forward to the opening hopefully later this year. There is still a little fundraising to do to complete the trail so please check out their
website.
Our tasting rooms are now up and running so we can accommodate large groups for tastings and we will be opening a permanent Cellar Door later this year. In the meantime we are still open by appointment so please
contact us to arrange this.
Feel free to
get in touch for wine tastings, events, or to order from our current vintage the 2007 range and the 2009 aromatics. Sadly the 2007 Mountford Estate Pinot Noir is no longer available however the 2007 Liaison Pinot Noir is developing beautifully. Check this wine and others out in the
Wine Menu.
Oh, and don't forget to check out our Twitter page
MtFord_Vineyard for up to the minute news and updates of the goings on here.
Stay happy and healthy, from the team here at Mountford Estate.
